Advanced Micro Devices Inc. said it is intensifying efforts to rebalance its cost-structure and improve profitability by adopting what chairman and CEO Hector de J. Ruiz described as an asset-lie strategy. In pursuit of that strategy, the company expects to sell some plants and equipment as well as buildings and land to raise about $1 billion.
